Welcome to K-S-A.

Killington Sailing Association welcomes all types of sailors and canoeists to our lake. The presence of wind turbines gives an indication of good wind conditions on most days with a prevailing SW wind. Racing takes place in an informal fashion on Wednesday evenings during BST. There is no formal instruction for sailors but peer teaching can be arranged. Several youth groups use the lake such as Kendal Sea Cadets and Lancaster Sea Scouts as well as many clients from Bendrigg Lodge. New members are always welcome and contact should be made initially to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

BART's BASH

KSA is hosting a “Bart’s Bash” race on Sunday Sept 21st at 11am.  All club members are welcome to compete in an informal race to celebrate the life of Andrew Simpson who sadly died during training for the America’s Cup.

The Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation is planning a monster sized attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for 'The-Largest-Sailing-Event-in-the-World', which we are calling 'Bart's Bash'! Already 543 clubs, from over 6 continents, have signed up to take part!  The idea is to have a mass participation club race across the UK and the whole World.  A small donation towards the foundation would be requested.

So far the Kendal Sea Cadets, Lancaster Sea Scouts and Sedbergh School have expressed an interest in taking part in what is envisaged as a relay race around the lake…. Come and join us - and be a Record Breaker...
